At BCA we believe that differentiated learning is at the very foundation to a student’s academic success. Our teachers spend time learning about each of their students. By understanding the unique learning abilities of each student, our teachers can teach and connect with each student individually. We know each student learns differently.
It’s important for us to have child that can’t wait to come to school. A child who wants to be at school is ready to learn.
Our students learn the basics of math and language arts, as well as science, Bible, computers, art, Spanish, music, physical education, and library skills. These subject areas provide students with a well-rounded education designed to promote the essential components of child development.
The language arts curriculum, which balances literature and phonics, teaches our students to enjoy reading. The Accelerated Reader program also encourages the students to read independently. Our math curriculum focuses on the mastery of math skills, understanding of important concepts, and the integration of problem solving.
Burlington Christian Academy uses the EQAO (Ontario Ministry of education testing) which is administered annually in grades 3 and six. BCA opts to do this even though most private schools do not take part. We do the testing so parents can understand the quality of education at BCA in comparison other schools within the Ontario public school system.
