Burlington Christian Academy Board of Directors

The primary purposes of the Board of Directors is to develop and review policy, hire senior administrative staff, review the performance of senior administrative staff and consulting staff, ensure financial accountability and maintain a well-kept campus. Our long-term vision for the school is a constant focus on exemplary Christian instruction, joyful learning for every student, passionate teachers, delighted parents, clean facilities, good governance and financial stability. This is the Board’s prayer, hope, and dream. Together we trust God that we are purposed to bless students with insights and habits that will serve them well for a lifetime. Kim Beaman - Chair

Kim Beaman joined the BCA Board in July 2019 after being a classroom teacher at the school for eight years.  She is also a graduate of the school.  Kim currently serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry at West Highland Church in Hamilton.  She lives in Burlington with her husband, Ross, and their three children.

Sandie Faulkner - Vice Chair

Sandie joined the BCA Board in June, 2021. She and her husband, Paul have been part of the BCA community for many years; their two oldest children started attending in 2005 and their third and youngest daughter graduated in 2020. Sandie has had a rich career teaching with the Halton District School Board, has been involved with many educational and ministry-based programs, and is currently tutoring with an academic centre in Burlington. Hope Bible Chapel is their home church. Sandie finds it most rewarding to develop and nurture relationships within small group settings where faith, prayer and encouragement abound.

Andrew Ponsen 

Andrew Ponsen joined the BCA Board in May 2019. Since 2004 Andrew has worked at King’s Christian Collegiate. He has enjoyed the challenges involved in being the Director of Facilities for 14 years, including involvement in 5 major renovations/additions to the school facility during that time. Andrew has been married for 16 years to his second wife Teresa; his first wife having passed away in 1999. He has two married children and two fantastic grandchildren. When not busy with home and work life, you can find Andrew pursuing his passion – swimming, cycling or running in the Burlington area as he trains for triathlons. Andrew and Teresa attend Faith CRC in Burlington.

Paul Vet, CPA, CA - Treasurer

Paul Vet joined the BCA board in August 2021.  He's currently also the treasurer for Rolling Horse Community Cycle and has served on other non-profit and hospital boards.

He lives in Burlington with his spouse Jill and their two adult children.  They attend Forestview Church in Oakville.  Paul runs a tax and accounting practice for owner-managed businesses.
