Burlington Christian Academy Board of Directors
The primary purposes of the Board of Directors is to develop and review policy, hire senior administrative staff, review the performance of senior administrative staff and consulting staff, ensure financial accountability and maintain a well-kept campus. Our long-term vision for the school is a constant focus on exemplary Christian instruction, joyful learning for every student, passionate teachers, delighted parents, clean facilities, good governance and financial stability. This is the Board’s prayer, hope, and dream. Together we trust God that we are purposed to bless students with insights and habits that will serve them well for a lifetime. ​Cecil Munkoh - Chair
Cecil and his family have been part of the BCA community since 2020. He joined the Board in September of 2023.
​
Cecil is a 20+ years banking professional with TD Bank, leading teams in SME Banking in the Greater Toronto Area. He also runs an alternative asset management business, which he founded in 2012.
​
Cecil and his spouse Mary and kids live in Hamilton and attend Living Hope Church. When not at work, Cecil is busy on the basketball court and soccer field with his boys.

Reshmi Samuel - Vice Chair
Reshmi is a Medical Doctor from South Africa. She has held a range of positions both in South Africa and internationally, in governmental, academic and private institutions. Her PhD was completed with collaborators from Barcelona. Her findings had a direct impact on the national treatment guidelines for pregnant women with HIV and has resulted in a decreased incidence of babies born with HIV and fewer mothers with HIV drug resistance in South Africa. She was awarded the prestigious Fogarty scholarship and worked as a research scholar at Harvard University, Massachusetts, US.

Reshmi currently serves on the advisory board of Apologetics Canada and is passionate about helping kids understand and share their Christian faith. She attends Glad Tidings church and actively serves at her church together with her family.
Reshmi is a proud Canadian citizen and lives in Hamilton with her husband and two boys. She enjoys visiting the many waterfalls in Hamilton.

Paul Vet, CPA, CA - Treasurer
Paul Vet joined the BCA board in August 2021. He's currently also the treasurer for Rolling Horse Community Cycle and has served on other non-profit and hospital boards.
​
He lives in Burlington with his spouse Jill and their two adult children. They attend Forestview Church in Oakville. Paul runs a tax and accounting practice for owner-managed businesses.

Catherine Evans - Secretary
Catherine Evans joined the BCA Board in January 2023. She and her husband, Mark, have been part of the BCA community since 2015, when their eldest daughter first enrolled. A decade later, two daughters have graduated, and their youngest is still attending.
For over 20 years, their family has been actively involved at Forestview Church, where they remain deeply committed to its mission and community. With a strong heart for ministry, Catherine and Mark served on staff with Ontario Pioneer Camp—one of Canada’s largest Christian overnight camps—for over 17 years and continue to be involved in volunteer roles each summer.
Catherine has worked for eight years in Aquatics with the City of Burlington, where she helps provide aquatic programming for city patrons, and offers leadership over a large staff team.
She is passionate about BCA’s mission of walking alongside families in the shared joy and responsibility of raising children to know the love of Jesus and reflect His goodness to the world.
